On Friday Oct 29th i went to see Matrix Fights 3. It was one of the best promotions that i have seen so far, every fight was action packed! There were allot of fighters from Team LLoyd Irvin on the Card, but I mainly went to support my teammate and training partner Standley Eugene.
This was my first time being back in the fighters locker room and helping him get ready for his fight. It was very interesting for me to see what happens behind the scenes. Every fighter has there own way of getting ready for a fight. Standley did not seem nervous at all, and he didn’t need to get angry or pump himself up before the fight. He has a different mentality then most fighters, but i also think it comes from the confidence he has in his training and all the hard work he has put in.
I have to say it, Standley is a beast! I would not want to be the one standing between him accomplishing his goals. The fight went great, and was pretty much what we were expecting from him. He dominated the striking, was able to get take downs when he wanted, and he came out on top in the scrambles. This decision win now brings his record to 3-0. I cant wait for his next fight in December at Locked In The Cage! I would highly recommend coming out to watch this talented and exiting fighter.
