3 competitors from Paramount BJJ entered the Grappling Industries tournament this past Saturday in Broomall, and each walked away with at least one medal.
In the no-gi “Absolute” (all weights) division AJ Discianni submitted 3 opponents and finished with a bronze medal. He then entered his weight class and submitted 3 more opponents to earn another bronze. He was outpointed in the matches he lost.
Blake Lowry double-medaled in the gi with a couple of bronze medals. He demonstrated perfectly several of the concepts and strategies we’ve been working on in the Saturday competition class.
In his best performance to date, Pete Martin won five straight matches before falling just short of the gold. It was a well-earned silver medal and one to be proud of.
Grappling Industries will return to Broomall on November 21st. Those planning to compete should let Coach Brad know ASAP.
