Alexander Gustafsson continued his impressive win streak on Saturday night with a dominant performance against former UFC Light HW Champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua.
With the victory, the Team Lloyd Irvin fighter guaranteed a title shot against current Champ Jon Jones. First though, Jones has to get past Chael Sonnen.
Because Jones and Sonnen won’t fight until April 2013, Gustafsson may end up fighting Machida or Henderson. These two are set to fight early next year as well, and if either one is injured Gustafsson will be stepping in.
In the meantime, Team Lloyd Irvin continues to introduce the UFC to the next generation, and potentially the Next World Champion.
