The 2014 IBJJF Master World Championships has come and gone, and Chester County was represented well by the team from Paramount Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ). In fact, Paramount BJJ was the only school in Chester County to earn medals at the Worlds, check out the results:

Greg Hagner made his first trip to the pyramid at Long Beach, California for a Jiu-Jitsu competition. He picked the largest, most prestigious event and did not disappoint. After dominating his quarterfinal opponent and winning 7-0, he battled through a tough semifinal match to win a referee decision. In the final he fell short 4-2, but that doesn’t diminish his achievement.

Ed Westermark also made the trek to the west coast, and as usual made it to the podium. Ed had 3 tough matches and walked away with a Bronze medal. He is now a 2-time medalist at the World Championships. He can add that to his collection of Gold medals from the Pan American, New York and Boston Championships.
