The 2015 IBJJF World Championship of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (AKA “Mundial”) is over 9 months away, but to the athletes dreaming of a world title it’s right around the corner. It will take more effort and more sacrifice than most people will ever realize. One of the athletes preparing for a run at the 2015 Worlds is Paramount BJJ student Phil Mento.

Mento won the IBJJF Boston Summer Open just 10 days ago in impressive fashion. He finished 3 of his 4 opponents with chokes to win Gold at middleweight. He then beat 4 more opponents and took Silver in the open weight division. Check out his Gold medal match from the middleweight division:
