I was only able to train at open mat today after the BJJ basics class at Paramount. It is cool to see how big these classes are getting, because we all know how busy you can be on the weekends. What was even better to see is that almost everyone stayed to train at open mat.
My matches today were very humbling. Honestly Kevin beat me up, which is pretty much what i expect since he is an amazing purple belt. My match with Zach was going OK until i got caught in a tight choke while passing the guard. Even though its never fun to get beat like that, it will help me to get better in the long run. Its awesome to have so many great training partners that want to help each other get better. The camaraderie at Paramount BJJ and Team Lloyd Irvin is second to none.
